and then we got to pet a fish!

That afternoon we headed over to Montauk Ben and Noah's grandparents' house for a quick swim, a visit to the garden to sample some raspberries and sugar snap peas, and a chance to pet a fish. Yep, you read that right! Gordo, a member of their koi pond, actually swims up to you for a little pet. Our Ben enjoyed petting Gordo so much, his excitement when Gordo would swim close was contagious!

After the rain let up we headed to Ditch for a surprisingly delightful overcast day at the beach. Dan and the kids had fun finding sticks to decorate "our area."

Sometimes the best thing to do when you're on vacation and it is raining is just to go outside and enjoy it! (Especially when you're coming from a very hot, dry, fiery start to summer back home.)
