Springtime at the North Pole!

Our kids are just the right age for this kind of Santa magic, so we try to visit the North Pole as often as possible. This year we arrived the day after it opened and were greeted with the perfect weather and no lines!

Bree's first field trip!

Bree missed the first Kindergarten field trip in the fall on account of visiting some buffalo and four large presidents's carved into a mountainside. Lucky for her - her class did TWO field trips this year and she got to attend the second one. And seeing as how it was her first ever field trip Mommy took the day off and tagged along. Bree's first school bus ride trucked her up to the Wildlife Experience in Parker. What a fun place to learn about habitats! We started with a 3D movie and then had some time to explore the museum. Unfortunately, the camera died just a few pictures in. Fortunately, mommy drove up by herself so she didn't have to eat lunch with a bus full of kids on the way home!

Presents!

 Our wonderful friends and family were so generous to us. We didn't have time to open the birthday presents at the party - so it waited until we arrived home. Mommy wanted to do it in an orderly fashion, with list-making for thank-you card writing and so on, but was quickly overruled. Nonetheless, we are very grateful!

A Dolphin Party!

 This year, Ben turned 3 and Bree turned 6 and they both had a splashy party at Donna's Dolphins! It is pretty special that we can have a combined birthday party and since both kids love the pool - Donna's Dolphins was a perfect fit. The group had a blast in the water with tons of organized activities and also time for free play. Then we enjoyed pizza and Hello Kitty and Spiderman cupcakes. 

Giver

 My friend Jonie told me about an opportunity to apply to become a giver for World Book Night. I loved the idea, applied, and was picked for the job! On April 23, 2013 (The anniversary of Shakespeare's birthday) thousands of people around the country gave away books to promote reading. The title I had to give was a young adult novel called Looking for Alaska by John Green. I gave most of the copies away to parents of my students, and the leftovers went to teachers at my school.

Ben Turns 3

On April 17, 2013 Ben turned 3! He requested pizza for dinner and his sister got to work making posters to hang on the wall. Our family enjoyed dinner and Ben opened a few presents and blew out 3 candles! Then he slept in his new car bed. Happy birthday Ben!
